Hi I just received my Einstein on Friday and I'm beginning to notice that the release for the speedring does not spring back on its own I need to push the lever back to the top... is there anything I can do to fix this, they sprung back at first... I've been using the PLM V2 64" modifier on the speedring. Thanks, Matt |

My slightly older lamps are starting to feel sticky. However they aren't as bad as yours yet. Mine still return on their own. |

Is there any spring resistence at all, or is it totally free moving? |

There is spring resistance and a kind of grinding/ratcheting noise... kind of sounds like the spring is rubbing against something when I depress the release lever on the right... They seem to lock and occasionally release freely after I let go of the lever (when opening... I haven't dropped any modifiers or anything drastic like that.) |

I played with the mechanism last night (opening and releasing many times) and it seems to be returning better now still have a grinding noise but it returns on its own now about 7/10 times using the left release and almost 10/10 times on the right release lever (when facing the control panel)... I can live with it but wanted to know if there's any way to lubricate the mechanism with either a wax based lubricant or graphite? |
