Hello,

I'm a happy Alienbees customer since 2009 Q3.
I bought 4 heads, batteries packs and a load of accessorizes all in once as I'm living in Europe and back then, the european website/store wasn't there yet.

I've got one issue since sunday, i was shooting on location,
I used one AB800 & one Vagabond II.
We fired about 40 times at about 1/16 power then we switched at about 1/4 at a different setup. Once done, the flash seemed not working. Even turned on, it's like it was turned off.
We turned the power off then on again, fired the flash once using the "TEST" button on the head then my friend/assistant saw a little bit of smoke coming up from the head... Not from the flashbulb, really inside the head. We directly turned off the flash then the vagabond II.

Any luck for some advices to how to fix it?

Exact same gear used:
AB800 unit 110v
Vagabond II 110v
CSR between the vagabond & the head.

Even if the gear is in my hands since late 2009, i usually got really simple setups and don't use all my flashes all the time. sometimes i use flash A, sometimes flash B etc.
Aswell i always have been really focused about the charging tips from the vagabond II.

Cheers
G

If the unit smokes, please do not continue to use it. The unit will need to be returned to us for repair. You can email repair@paulcbuff.com for more information. Without examination, we cannot offer an explaination of what happened.
