I am having all sorts of issues with my equipment. When I have the CST mounted on my hotshoe on my camera, if I click the Test button once should I get a single red flash?

How about on the CSRB+? Im getting a single red flash when I click the Test button.

Thanks!!!

This is correct . . . you should get a single red blink on both the CST and the CSRB+ and the attached flash should fire. If you get two rapid blinks on the CST test button, this indicates the battery is low. One anomaly in the CST: When the battery is almost dead it can send a rapid sequence of fire commands and cause the receiver(s) to rapidly strobe.

But you didn't say what issue are you having.

I just can't get it to fire consistently and it's making me crazy. Today started out fine but then it started to get more unreliable and then after an hour refused to fire the flash at all. So frustrating! So I know the two were "talking" to one another but then it just died out. I put in new batteries into the speedlight and both the CST and CSRB but it didn't help at all. It was very windy and very cold but I was literally 2 ft from the speedlight. Would wind mess up a signal? I brought it home and it works mostly perfectly again. But it has never been without some hiccups. Like I get a lot of misfires but I have that problem with my Cyber Commander on the Einstein too.

I really REALLY want this to work but I'm wondering if I need to bite the bullet and get pocket wizards (which I really don't have in my budget now).

Okay now the CSRB+ is blinking a green light every second. Is that right??? Like does it flash every second until it "goes to sleep"?

This is simply the indicator that tells you the CSRV+ is awake and ready to receive a flash signal. It will go to sleep one hour after the last firing. If the green LED is flashing rapid blink sequences this indicates it's in repeater mode . . . used to increase the range. It's all in the manual.

I misplaced my manual. PDFs of them online would be great (or maybe they are there). So Luap, would windy conditions cause this stuff not to work? As a woman, as soon as I run into trouble I panic. I wish I was more constable w the tech stuff...

The manual is online at: http://www.paulcbuff.com/manuals/
(The direct link for the CyberSync triggers is here.)

It sounds to me like you are experiencing radio interference. If that's the case, and you have fresh batteries, your only options are:
1) Try a different channel (just switch that number dial screw on your transmitter and receiver(s) to a different channel - making sure that you switch them all to the same new channel.)
2) Move your shoot to a different location - a few feet, yards, miles away - you just have to get away from whatever is interfering with your triggers.

EDIT: The wind should not be a problem.

I suspect the previous poster was suggesting a different frequency, and making sure the CSRB's and CST are all set the same. If you have more than one CSRB, each one needs to be on a unique channel, but everything must be set to the same freq.

We have never seen any serious radio interference problems with CyberSync.
