Post subject:  CST Trigger Transmitter Only Works Once

I've had my CST Trigger Transmitter and CSRB Receivers in a drawer for about a year... I pulled them out today and the CSRB's all powered up and act normal (LED blinks every second or so) but the CST is acting strange... If I remove the battery, then insert the battery, the LED blinks three times, and then it will trigger the CSRB's one time via the Test button, then stop working until I remove and replace the battery again. I tested the voltage of the battery and it's ~2.6V. Is this the expected behavior of a low/dead battery, or is something else wrong?

I'm gonna try to get a replacement CR2450 tomorrow, but couldn't resist posting to see if anyone had an answer before then.

Thanks!

2.6 V is pretty much a dead CR2450. I think I've had this happen before with a CST but I don't remember for sure. I bet a new battery will have you back in business.

multiple blinks on the CST, CSRB, or CSRB+ indicate a low battery condition. A replacement will fix the issue.

Thanks guys - I got a new battery ($6.50 @ Rite Aid) and am back in business!

EDIT: It does seem strange to me that I could reliably get one shot from the dead battery each time I re-inserted it... but, I'll chalk it up to black magic - lesson learned! :)

One pop from a dead battery is pretty common . . . like a car that won't turn the starter but if you let it sit for a while the battery recovers a bit and may then turn the starter a bit.

Yeah - the weird thing is that it didn't need any recovery time... I would just pull the battery, stick it in, and hit test - it fired every time (I tried it about 10-15 times in a row.). But I do understand that "strange" things happen to digital electronics when the battery voltage falls below a certain level... this "strange" was just a new one for me! :)

Thanks for the reply!
