Just thought I would let people know that the VML DOES work with the Speedotron Force 10 and Force 5 units. They need to be on slow recycle but I was pretty sure they would because of the draw.

I would advise against the use of the modling light, it's a 250watt bulb and you can almost see the battery draining.

Half power is around 3 seconds (half power on a 1000watt head is more then most people will ever need) Full power is around 8.

Looking back I forgot to try multiple heads so I will try that this weekend and see what the time will be.

Thanks for sharing this info! If you do try multiple heads, please let us know!

Two heads is a no go, but we all knew it would be so it's ok.

Four or even five 640WS AB1600s work fine on Vagabond Mini. But four at full power you'll have to wait about 14 seconds for recycle. Much faster at reduced power.

I'm surprised you got one to work...the Force 10 has an old intel 386 compatible chip as a controller IIRC...should have been pretty sensitive to brownouts ;-)

The uP has nothing to do with this. It's the power supply design.

There seems to be no problems as long as the light is on slow recycle. I don't use the modeling light so that helps as well.

Makes sense . . . fast recycle equals more charging current and lower inverter voltage. Same with Profoto.

I tried today VML with two Broncolor Minicom 80 in slow charge, without problem, at full power recharge around 10sec
