| Post subject: | Speedring Adapter Plate Differences |
Has anyone else noticed a subtle difference between the two designs of PCB speedring adapter plates? By adapter plate, I'm referring to the sheet metal stamping part of the speedring that interfaces with the monolight. PCB manufactures two versions of this part - the one that comes with the standard LGSR speedring has a 6" diameter and the one that comes with the foldable softboxes is 5-1/2" in diameter. While this diameter is immaterial, these two designs fit differently on the Einsteins (v2). The foldable softbox design fits snugly on the Einstein and the fingers can retract fully to hold the softbox securely. The LRSR design doesn't allow the fingers to retract fully and doesn't quite have the holding strength of the other version. Has anyone else noticed this difference? Are there plans to update the 6" adpater plate so the Einstein mechanism can retract fully? Tim |

Yes, they are different in design. Either should be able to mount to your Einstein securely. However, if you are having problems doing so, please contact our sales or repair staff for warranty service on the light. |
