is it possible to use built in flash on t3i to tigger ab800? I set to manual but still getting preflash that set off the ab800. I went on to tdihe funtions and dissabled the autofocus beam and it does not preflash but the final flash is not tiggering the ab800. I check flash power and its up, so I'm lost and confused.

I do not want to get wireless tiggers right away and was hoping the t3i built in flash would work for now.

Your AB800 cannot ignore the preflash. Also, the autofocus assist flashes you disabled are separate from the TTL preflash.

Try going in to the menu and changing the flash mode from E-TTL II to Manual. In E-TTL II mode there will always be a preflash.

Thanks for the response. I tried changing to manual, but still did not work as it still shot off preflashes. I called Berger Bros and he explained that the 'manual' is not fully manual and said I would have to but a cheap hotshoe flash if I want to slave.

I decided to just purchase the cybersnyc transmitter and the +battery power receiver. I hope I'm satisfied and can't wait till it arrives. My ab800, and octabox is sitting in the corner of my room waiting to be used.

I think you will be very happy with CyberSync. If you want to play around with the light until the remotes come in, you can set the B800 to a lower power (1/8 or so, maybe lower). This will allow the Bee to fire twice, as it will recycle faster. The main thing is do not get used to those settings, as things will change drastically when the remotes do arrive. I certainly would not rely on this method, but you can still play around.
