Is PCB ever coming out with a wireless CC to control lights without having to mount it on the camera? Currently using-Canon5DMII+CanonTT1+MC2's Or can a Multimax do this? |

Maybe I'm not understanding the question correctly.... but the Cyber Commander does not need to be mounted on the camera unless you want to trigger the lights with it. I also shoot a 5Dmii and the way I (and many others) typically use the system is with the Cyber Commander in-hand and a CST transmitter in the camera's hotshoe. This approach gives you the convenience of wireless adjustments via the Cyber Commander without the hassle of having it physically attached to the camera. And you get some transmitter redundancy too. |

Really, Your able to do that? I guess i never understood this as a whole. So, the CC doesn't need to be mounted to the camera at all? Can you use the with MC2 or PCB Transmitters only? |

I'm basically using the CC as a "controller/adjuster" but not as a trigger. Using this approach I think you can basically trigger the lights with any other trigger that you'd like. I haven't tried it with MC2 though so hopefully someone else can answer more definitively. :?: By the way, there are many solutions for carrying the CC (if not in your camera's hotshoe). Mine happens to be using a Frio cold shoe and lanyard so I can hang it around my neck. Very hand. |

Chico wrote: Does anybody know if i can use the CC with my Steins+MC2 Receivers? No, the CC will not communicate with MC2. The frequencies and encoding are different and propriatary. However, you can use the CC to adjust CSXCV in the Einstein, and connect a PW (any recieving PW) into the sync jack. Use CC to adjust and PW to trigger. Or you can slide the CC into the TT1/TT5 and it will be triggered then to (unless the shoe is occupied by an AC3 or speedlite) Or, you can connect CC or CST to the PC terminal of the camera, and have whatever in the hotshoe. Or you can have a PW connected to a CST (and maybe even use one already on another light). When the PW is triggered by the PW in the hotshoe, it will relay the signal to the E640's (saving the cost of one or more PW's) |

Right? I like shooting food and Beverage Photography and i have a soft box over the top 99% of the time. I hate getting up on the latter to adjust my light... I mostly want the CC to light meter purposes and independent light adjustments. |

Yes, it does not need to be on the hotshoe unless you want it to trigger your lights. Actually, many of us prefer to use it as a handheld light controller, with a CST on the hotshoe for triggering. It is (for me, anyway) much easier to operate the CC this way, as it seems a bit more awkward to operate when mounted on the camera, especially so if not on a tripod. Plus, the CC is a backup trigger if the CST battery should run down during a shoot. |

My concern would be with the metering method. Yes, the CC is also a light meter, so that is not a problem itself, but you seem intent on using another set of triggers for triggering. I would assume you have other lights being triggered by PW's. This would not allow you to meter these other lights with the CC. |
