Hi,
I recently received my Vagabond Mini Lithium and noticed what appears to be corrosion on the contacts.

See this posting over at Flickr:

Is this normal or are my terminals corroded? I have yet to use this baby with my Einstein, and don't plan to till I get some solid answers.

My impression is that copper contacts should be shiny and clean--not covered in what appears to be corrosion/scratches.

The contacts for the battery, the battery "holder/unit" (the thing the battery slides into), and the power supply all have this.

This is not abnormal. The contacts are not copper, rather they are satin silver plated bronze. Softness is a property of silver, which means it will scratch and pit. Also, silver may tarnish to some degree. All connections are tested multiple times after manufacture and before shipping, some possibly more than others, which will result in the scratches upon reciept. No ill effects will arise from this.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a test run today.

These are Anderson Power Pole connectors and are accepted as the very best connectors available for this sort of use . . . and they are expensive. We actually buy them from Anderson in the USA and ship them to our vendor.
