Will it work with a speedlite and how could it be attached.

There are no direct to speedlite mounting methods available on the market to fit any of our products that I know of. However, if such a bracket was self engineered, then yes it would work, however you would probably want to use a Stoffen type diffuser, and the effect will probably differ a littledue to the inherent difference in design between a speedlite and strobe light.
