Hey all,

I purchased my CyberSync when they first came out. I have to B800's with the receivers and everything has worked flawlessly since then, up until I replaced my battery in the transmitter.

The transmitter will blink red when I insert the cradle. If I press the "test" button, it blinks momentarily, showing me its transmitting. When I plug the receiver into my b800, it hooks up like normal. If the unit is on, I get a flash. If I press the test button on my transmitter, the lights do not flash. If I press "test" on the receiver, the lights do not flash.

Whats going on?

I double checked everything today. I have a Duracell 2450 battery in my transmitter (which the battery is new), but my lights are not flashing. If I press the test button on the b800, it will flash, so I know the unit is working.

If I press "test" on the transmitter, it will light up red for a second and the receiver will light up red at the same time (that tells me the units are communicating), but the flash unit will not flash.

Does this mean that I have a bad chord that goes from receiver to flash unit? Or, are my receivers bad? My transmitter?

Help!

I'd try disconnecting and reconnecting the cord, or a slight wiggle at the plug/jack on the AB800. If you have the alternate cords that came with your trigger/rcvr, also use the cord that will fit a speedlight, make sure you can trigger the speedlight.

That would nail it down to the cord or the jacks. If you are careful to get the right plugs, you can often find a cable that will work at places that have audio/video equipment, Radio shack, etc.

I did a bit of an experiment today.

I took my two receivers and hooked up just one light. First, I took Rec "A" and tried to fire it with just the transmitter. Nothing.

I than took rec "B" and plugged it into the light, after removing "A" of course. The light fired.

I than took the sync chord from rec A and attached it to rec B. The light fired.

As Sherlock Holmes would say "deduction my dear Watson". I obviously have a bad receiver. I wonder if I can send it to Paul and get it fixed....

If it is outside of warranty, it is not cost effective to repair, so it would need to be replaced. You can contact us to see what the warranty status is if you are unsure.
