Shot a T&I on Tuesday and had some issues with my CS CST.

Would fire fine and then would not fire. Remove and re-insert battery and would fire fine for 5-10 times and then wouldn't fire. Repeat battery re-insert procedure...

Battery? Do I need to send it in?

Thanks,
Dennis

When the CST is triggered (not when the battery is inserted) how many times does the LED blink red? Multiple times or none means the battery is low or dead. Once the battery is fine and will require more troubleshooting

Thanks TS ! I'll swap the battery first and see what happens.

Thanks again,
Dennis

I too am having this problem. The LED blinks three times when the battery is inserted. When test is pressed, the flash fires, the LED does not come on, then the CST ceases to work.

I'm skeptical my battery is dead since I bought my unit so recently.

Well Tech Support says above, that if the LED blinks multiple times when the battery is inserted that the battery is low. I think I would I trust them on that :) If a brand new battery does the same thing than probably an issue with the CST. But for $6 you can probably buy a two pack of batteries at Target or Walgreens and see what happens. You probably should have spare batteries anyway.

The batteries we buy are bought in bulk. It is entirely possible that some will die more rapidly than the expected service life. The service life is based on a premium brand battery (Energizer/Duracell). The three blinks are indicative of a low battery.

Replaced the battery and the issue is resolved. Very relieved there's nothing wrong with the CST and that I can expect longer battery life in the future.

I'd recommend buying those coin cells in bulk too, they are way overpriced if you buy them locally, at one and two cells a pop. I bought 25 name brand ones on ebay for $10 shipped. Who cares if you don't use them all (before they die), you spend more than that on 3 cells at your local store...
