Post subject:  alien Bees and Aurora Softbox

Hello guys, I just joined this group as I am thinking about purchasing AB flashes. I was reading a few post but couldn't find a direct answer to my question. I have a few Aurora Sofbox and I was just wondering if you had any issues fitting them into any AB Speedring?

I've heard about AB thru Zarias website and he seems to love these flashes...

Thank you so much in advance and have a great day!

Do you have a speedring yet to fit any model light? If so, measure it. If it measures 7.5" in outer diameter, it should be fine. Looking at the Aurora brand boxes on line, i would expect our rings to fit it. If not, Aurora may have a speedring (or inner adapter) to fit our lights, or Balcar. Either would work.

thanks for the update but if I buy a few ABs Softbox that comes with the RING, will the speed ring fit my Aurora softbox as well or the ring on the AB softbox cannot be removed??

Best regards

of you buy a flodable softbox, then you cannot remove the speedring. If you get one of the closeout standard softboxes, you should be able to use the same speedring.

FWIW, I have an Aurora Balcar speedring that I connected up to a Plume Wafer softbox so I could use bees w/ it...
The Aurora Balcar speedring is very well built...wish they brought their softboxes into the US...
