Any one know if it is safe to use the Mini Vagabond to charge the Kindle Fire using a USB cord plugged into the USB port on it?

Can't imagine why it wouldn't be safe, but that doesn't mean it will work. iPad's, for instance, can't be charged from the VML USB port. The sure way is to use the 110v charger that came with the Kindle. That's what I do with my dumbed-down (no Flash support) Apple devices.

Safe? Yes. Again, whether or not it will work is a different story. The VML has a 5VDC .5A output. Many new devices require 5VDC and 1A output. Check the wall wart for its output specs.
