Yes, the meter reading only happens when the meter button is pressed.

At this time only full stop shutter speeds are available in ISO and Shutter Speed. Cyber Commander reads any light it gets at the time of the meter reading, including ambient. Please see the sticky regarding this. However, in studio, changes in typical shutter speeds settings do not alter the exposure (really slow shutter speeds or speeds above x-sync will affect the image, however). 1/125 and multiples there of are full stop increments as found in cameras.

If aesthetics are your only concern, I would not advise glue, as this would not facilitate repairs, if necessary.
