| A friend has given me two of these flash units to use. I'm new to studio flash and want to know how I can use them with my Nikon D5000 and SB-700? ie...what do I need to activate all these light sources at the same time? Pocket wizards, cybersyncs, radiopoppers, microsyncs, etc... Can someone please assist me? Thanks, Scott | |

Yes, yes, yes, or yes. And Yes! Most studio lights can be triggered by most remote controls. Any one of the remote systems you mention will work to trigger the 10K's, provided the right cord is used. The Cyber Syncs are designed by teh same person who designed the 10K and are guaranteed to work, and come included with the correct cord. Until you get a suitable remote system, you can mount your SB700, and set it to "M" mode. Dial the power all the way down, and swivel/bounce the head away from your subject. When this flash fires, the 10K's will fire via thier slave eye (assuming they are working properly). You may need to incrementally increase the power of the SB and or rotate the head to one of the lights until they respond, but for small rooms, the set up as described should work. | |
