SO here is what's happening, if anyone can help me it would be GREATLY appreciated! :)

I have an AB800 with the CSR attached and the CST on the hotshoe of my d300s. First few days I used it I had no problems, everything worked perfectly. Then I left to shoot a wedding this past weekend, come home and now my set up is not working. When I press the test light on both the CSR and CST they both fire the light, no problems. However when I press the shutter, nothing. There's no connection, the light does not fire. I thought maybe something was wrong with my hotshoe so I tried my sb600 and it fires fine without a problem.

Can anyone give me an idea of what may be going on why my CST is not sending a signal when the shutter is pressed now?

Thank you in advance!

Sounds like it might be a contact issue between the CST and the hot shoe. Here are a few things to try - if any of them work then it points towards the CST not making contact in the shoe:

--Try pushing down gently on the CST (mounted in the hotshoe) while you snap a frame.

-- Try inserting the CST backwards (the center pin is the one that counts for triggering so this helps diagnose connection problems).

-- With the CST not in the hotshoe, connect the CST to the camera via the PC cord and see if it fires then.

Hope this helps!

That is exactly it, thank you! When I press down firm on it as I shoot it fires. So what should I do? Is it possible to fill the gap with something? When I use the cord to connect the CST to the camera it starts firing rapidly because the wire is loose and I'd rather not shoot with it that way. Thank you very much!

You should contact customer service as the contact ball should make contact with the hotshoe (otherwise it would just be called a "ball" ;) )
