					| There is no harm in leaving them installed when not in use for relatively short periods of time. However, like with any battery powered device, the batteries should be removed if they will not be used for an extensive period of time (months). This is not for a battery drain issue, but batteries can corrode if left installed for too long. 
 The battery contacts should not losse thier spring by installing and removing batteries. However, should the spring come out of contact, it is easy to bend back out into shape.
