I have had my CyberSync system for a little over 6 months now and they have been working flawlessly. Last week I was giving a demo at a workshop when Murphy's law caught up with me and the system failed. The problem seems to be with the transmitter. Pressing the test button does not trigger the receivers and the red LED does not come on. If I take out the battery and re-insert it, I get one shot. Then the test button becomes useless again until I repeat the process. It's pretty consistent, I reload the battery and it works for 1 test fire. I think the battery is fine, and I have not seen any mention of this specific behavior on the forum. Any clues? |

The light comes on as it should if I take the batery out and put back in (and it fires the strobes). The problem is that after that one shot, pressing the test button does not light the LED nor fire the strobes. If I repeat the battery removal, it works again for 1 shot. I am firing speedlights (Nikon SB800s, Lumopro160s). It had been working fine up until last week and I am well within the 2 year estimate of battery life. I will be replacing the battery tonight. I'll let you know how that goes. |

I suspect the battery. Any battery can have a less than expected life span, even fresh premium batteries (Energizer, Duracell, etc). |

Your description matches my experience. Weak batteries. Easy fix IF you remember to take spare battery with you. PANIC if you forgot. It uses AAA size. Stuuuuupid AA won't fit. |

Replaced the battery and the transmitter seems to be working fine again. I'm keeping a spare with me at all times now! |
