I'm considering upgrading our studio from Speedotron to Einsteins. The problem is we occasionally need more power from a single source. Any suggestions for mounting several units into a single softbox?

I have seen multi head speedrings from other manufacturers. I am not sure if you need a special box to fit the necessarily larger speedring (I would imagine so). I do not recall the brand that does this, however. Alternatively, you could use two heads with smaller softboxes. I have not seen any solutions to mount two heads into one standard softbox, however, that does not mean it is not possible.

I'm pretty sure I saw a Joel Grimes video where he stuck a second light in a soft box by mounting it on a second stand and sticking it through the opening around the speedring. I'm away from my gear at the moment but will see if that'll work with an AB large box when I get home. Not sure you could do this with three lights though... not enough slack?

Thanks, but I would need to mount the set up on a single Manfrotto boom.
I was able to locate a Chimera double light rig:

It will only hold two lights but that may be enough.

Balcar used to make a 3 head "soft box" called the Balcar Galaxy Box, once in a blue moon youll see them pop up on ebay.

Depending on how big your softbox is, this might also work:

I'll most likely be sticking with the 2 light set up

That still seems like a good amount of weight to boom. Hope you have a sturdy stand with some counter weights.
