I have acquired a vagabond II, the battery was dead but did not have time before a shoot to buy a new battery for it, so I hooked it up to a car 12 volt. I did not get any power from the unit, it sounds like it came on and the lights all lit but It will not power a AB800 plugged into it.
What can be the problem of this? Can it be repaired by the repair group at PCB? What is the best way to trouble shoot this problem. Thanks all for the help.

There are a variety of causes that result in no AC output. First, you can try to see if both positions of the FAST/SLOW switch produce the same result.

Otherwise, there is an internal issue at play. Most of these issues are repairable, though repair costs on others will exceed replacement cost.

OK. Great both positions give the same results. How would I go about sending it in for repair quote and possible repair?

This page will give you all of the details on sending the unit in. Since you know the battery is bad, no need to send it in, saving some shipping costs. We would like to have the battery and charger cords for inspection. Diagnostics fee is $50, and often covers the repair. However, there can be a higher estimate, up to including replacement cost.
