Hello all,

I have 3 E640 that require a firmware upgrade (currently running fw: 29). My issue is I can not find a 2GB MicroSD anywhere or if I do find one it seems to be way too expensive.

My question is if I get a 4GB and partician it into 2GB and format it with FAT16, would it work with my units? Has anyone tried to do this before? Please advice. Thanks!

MT

No, it can not be done. Contact our customer service department, we should be able to assist you.

That is truly excellent customer service which I hear again and again. Cheers to the team at PCB, inc. !!!

For what it's worth, if others are encountering an issue locating a compatible card, its not too difficult or expensive to purchase 2GB cards online. Newegg has some in stock for under $7. I've tried these and they work well:

FWIW, I have had reasonably good luck finding <2GB cards at drugstores and grocery stores.

I will def. keep my eyes open the next time I visit one of these stores. Considering that I have 3 x E640 & a Cyber Commander this will come handy for sure! Thanks!!

Will there be an update allowing larger capacity cards, if so any timeline you can share? Seems that is a much needed fix.

Cordially,
RicD

It is definitely something we are expecting to incorporate in a future update. However, I cannot say when that will be.
