First I love my vega mini and it has been faithful for almost a year. I was on a shoot yesterday and in the middle of the first session it powered off. I thought it might have overheated but in the process of my fault finding I noticed that if I removed the fuse it would power on no problem ( although the internal fan doesn't come on...not sure if it's supposed to) but once the fuse is in it will power up for less than a second and then shuts off. Any help would be appreciated I have a huge shoot coming up next week

By "power on" do you mean the fuel gauge lights come on, or do you also get a light by the USB port?

The fuel gauge lights bypass the fuse, but if the fuse as in place, and a short or other fault was present, this could shut the whole system down.

Ok, then the battery is just showing its charge status, and not really "turning on". When the fuse is installed, this activates the inverter, which appears to have a fault, and the whole thing shuts down.

If the unit is less than a year old, we can repair it under warranty. I would recommend contacting our repair department directly to establish how to best have this unit repaired.
