Hi, I could not find the answer to this question in your archives, so if i missed it somewhere i apologize in advance. I am about to order my first Einstein for the "all flash" action stopping shots that it was intended for. But I am also curious if using it for "General" photo shoots (stock shoots, weddings, etc) where the Einstein(s) make up 50 percent of the light and ambient makes up the other half, will the flash contribute anything towards getting sharp shots or will the ambient nullify the benefits of the flash ? thanks in advance for any info...

Usually in these general situations the flash contribution will be much greater than 50% of the subject exposure and will contribute significantly to motion stopping.

There's no hard and fast rule, but most times the goal is to isolate the subject from backlit sun and skies, etc, or bring out a subject in shadows, etc.

thanks, that is just the good news i was hoping to hear ! That's like getting an extra bonus from the Einstein light for me since i shoot with an 85mm 1.8 handheld (with no IS) a lot of times, so i may end up with two or three of these units before it's all over.... i get an acceptable number of sharp shots with my B400 and 800 units but I'm always looking for an easier (and better) way to get the job done.
