Hi

My set-up is
* Vagabond mini
* Einstein
* Cybersync CSXCV attached to the Einstein
* Cybersync transmitter in the hotshoe of my Canon 5D mark iii

Everything is turned on, cybersyncs and the einstein are set to frequency 1. My camera is on manual, set to 1/200 speed. When I press the shutter, the Einstein makes a sound but the light does not flash.

On the einstein I have it set to about 1/2 power, the model light is off, the 'ready' menu says "off" and is green, the next menu says 'off', the next one says 'color', then ch 01 then freq 01.

When I press the 'test' button on the transmitter, the 'ready' menu on the einstein blinks, which suggests they are 'talking'.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

(p.s. this is the first time I have tried off camera lighting. I thought this system was meant to be very simple plug and play so I am stumped :( )

If the light responds at all to the remotes, then the problem is not the remotes.

What happens when you hit the test button of the light itself (with the receiver removed from the top)? I am going to guess the light acts as though it flashes, but does not actually flash (i.e. acts the same way it does now).

If this is true, then there is either an issue with the light or with the flash tube. If you unplug the light and remove the frosted dome, you can inspect the flash tube (doughnut shaped light) for breaks in the glass or wire wrap. If you have another tube, you can try swapping them out.

If it is not the tube, then the light will need to come in for service. Our customer service department will help you with the best method of getting this problem corrected.

Thanks. I will check that when I get home from work.

I really hope I don't have to send the light back as it cost me a fortune to use a parcel forwarder and have it shipped to Australia.
