The photos showing the light pattern of the Omni reflector were made with an Einstein, which has a frosted glass dome. Is there more of a hot spot with Alien Bees units since they do not have one?

The Alien Bee flashes will not have more of a hotspot, despite them not having a diffusion dome.

AB will probably not have quite as even coverage from the modeling lamp because it is not as parallel to the flashtube, but the flash result should be very similar.
