If I attach a speedring to a stand directly and then attach an Einstein to the speedring; how strong is the union of the Einstein to the speedring? Can it safely support its own weight? With power cable attached? |

Assuming you do not have a damaged face plate, you should be fine. I would not necessarily suggest transporting the light in this manner, though. |

The faceplates are fine - though I am curious when they were changed to the new slotted type. But, that aside I am only concerned with the idea of mounting a heavy modifier to a stand directly via the speeding and then allowing the Einstein (or AB800) mount itself to the ring without secondary support for the light. Is there a general guide on the amount of weight the Einstein or AB can grip? Technical Support wrote: Assuming you do not have a damaged face plate, you should be fine. If you are concerned about it, the Kacey mount is probably your best option as it does both, support the modifier and the light. |

Is there a general guide on the amount of weight the Einstein or AB can grip? Our 30x60 is heavier than the Einstein, and applies more torque, as it hangs out farther. We have done some testing, and have not had any issues with any of our lights self supporting. |

Great - I appreciate it. Technical Support wrote: jamjon wrote: The faceplates are fine - though I am curious when they were changed to the new slotted type.
