Post subject:  Micro SD Card Won't Eject
I have a relatively new CyberCommander, and I was trying to remove the Micro SD card this morning. When I push in on it, it doesn't eject. Is this a common problem? Is it easy to fix or will it require repair work?

I've also noticed that the left joystick won't test fire the flashes. Again, is this common, or could I be doing something wrong?

The MicroSD card may be stuck on the edge of the housing. Once pressed to eject, it can be pried up and pulled out with a finger nail (though a tip of a knife/Xacto blade or similar may help).

As for the left joystick, it should fire all active lights. If you are in a group (GRP) that is undefined, it may not fire. There are also a number of other reasons that it may not fire due to various settings. Assuming you can get one or more lights to fire with the right hand joystick, the left one should fire at least the same ones as well.

Correction to TS: The left joy stick should only fire the selected channel and the right button should fire and meter only the selected light. To fire or meter all the light, scroll to "ALL"

To fire a group, scroll to the desired group.

If you are using a CST to fire lights, it will always fire all active lights unless you have selected a group on the CC. That means if you are set on the main CC flash screen, regardless of which channel is selected, the CST (or the CC fired from the camera contacts instead of test button) will fire all the lights that are active.

If you set the CC to a group, only the lights in that group will fire or meter from the CC buttons or from the camera via CC mounted on the camera or CST mounted on the camera or via CST test button.

This is how it is designed . . . to allow you to selectively fire and/or meter lights, or to fire or Meter ALL lights, or grouped lights.

I just updated my CC and 4 E640 units ... the first microsd card I used on the CC got stuck. I was able to pry it out but that destroyed the card (it wouldn't show up on the PC after I got it out).

I bought another one chalking the first to user error and updated 3 of the 4 Einsteins. The card is now stuck in the 4th Einstein. For future iterations of the CC and E640s I'd recommend looking at the design/tolerances of the microSD slot.

There are variations in Micro SD card end tab thicknesses. When I bought one to use for the Einstein firmware update, it was thicker than the one that came with the Cyber Commander. I found this out by putting them next to each other for comparison and by putting it in backwards to see if it was tight and it was. A little sand paper fixed this problem. If you have a hard time pulling or prying it out, try pushing it in again because there is a locking mode and it needs to be unlocked for it to pull out, be patient.

If so that's a really sloppy standard or implementation thereof by the micro SD manufacturers. My experience is that the micro SD cards I used (4 of them) all worked very well in my cell phone inserting and removing, and in 3 of the 4 Einsteins I have. They all worked poorly (some more poorly than others) in the CC I have an the 4th Einstein, and I apparently managed to destroy one of my micro SD cards removing it from the CC.
