I need to decide between the AC and Battery powered receivers. Considering the warning against using the Vagabond battery pack to power the modeling lights, I wonder if technical support could give us information on using the AC powered receivers with the vagabond II. Thank you.

I have used both--I am sure that the vagabond will support the ac powered rcvr (negligible power).

However, I would still recommend the battery powered version instead: you can easily use the with speedlights as well, they are smaller to carry around, and batteries are not too pricey (haven't needed expensive high current batteries, ordinary batteries work great). Rechargeable AAs work well, too.

The batteries last a pretty long time, in any case.

I used the ac powered ones, and they are fine, but when it came time to buy my own, the battery versions are what I chose.

My only concern would be the voltage fluctuation. I think I read on this forum that while the strobe is recharging, the voltage coming out of the vagabond can drop greatly. I don't know how tolerant the triggers are to this voltage drop.

My own opinion is that I would go with the battery powered ones as well. I got the battery powered triggers so I can use them withi my AB strobes or my hot shoe flashes.. one set of triggers for everything. They use standard AA batteries which last a LONG time in these things.

CSR+'s can handle voltages as low as 50VAC. The Vagabond was in mind when the remotes were developed.
