I've seen some claims from Radio Poppers that the AB 1600 will operate in high speed sync with their system...but I've also heard it only works when the aperture is wide open....

does anyone know?

Also..what about the AB when it is pluged up to a vagabond or vag mini? If the recycle time ends up being 3 sec then doesn't this make hss impossible unless used inside with the stobe pluged into the wall outlet?

Radio Poppers cannot truley perform HSS. The capacity to which they can work around sync speed limitations are independant of aperture or power supply. Please see the folloing link for more info: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=67
